Republicans fixed the rules they admit to applying in evaluating Dr. Ford’s sexual-assault allegation against Kavanaugh. That manipulation was designed to make it as easy as possible to reject victims’ accusations against their nominees. Then they made it even easier to reject victims’ accusations by sneakily requiring evidence beyond-a-reasonable-doubt in order not to confirm Kavanaugh.
